I tried to use RevoUninstaller to uninstall Visual Studio 2010, with only partial success.
The reason I wanted to uninstall VS2010, was that after installing the 2010 service pack 1, the C# compiler was no longer functioning.
However, even after uninstalling VS2010 SP1, all the components that were installed by VS2010, and finally, VS2010 itself, the VS2010 installer still thought that VS2010 was installed on the machine, and kept giving the same 1600 network location not found error.
In the end, I abandoned the Virtual machine and just used a copied machine which happened to successfully install VS2010 SP1.
I believe that the main reason VS2010 SP1 failed to install correctly, was due to running the VM on XP Mode which is very heavy on disk usage, and the VM did not correctly shutdown on at least one occassion.
